CJ Greer is currently on the voice faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno implementing a new Musical Theatre degree program. CJ found her passion and life’s work in vocal performance and instruction. She carries an MFA in Music Theatre Vocal Performance and Pedagogy and MM/Classical from Penn State University, and a BME from the University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana. CJ has performed and presented around the world as singer, actor, teacher, and conductor with an undying love for storytelling through music.

Research interests span from bringing movement and intimacy training practices into the voice studio, to interdisciplinary approaches to vocal performance, to working with the medical field exploring where science and singing can heal. She has just completed her Open Source Forms (OSF) certification and is piloting a new integrative approach to teaching singing alongside movement and dance. CJ has been featured multiple times in Classical Singer magazine, on The Visceral Voice podcast and is presenting her research nationally and internationally. She is a frequent guest singer for Symphonic Holiday Pops concerts and has recently completed a one-woman cabaret featuring the music of Kander & Ebb (Cabaret, Chicago).

Her most recent article “Finding Grace: A Singing Teacher’s Journey with Her First Transgender Student” was published through Routledge/Voice and Speech Review. This February she will be performing here in Naples at TheatreZone in their production of Escape to Margaritaville. Come check out the show!
